Panama can expect scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms on Wednesday, October 21, following a relatively quiet morning in many areas, according to the Instituto de Meteorología e Hidrología de Panamá.

The monsoon trough and nearby low-pressure systems are maintaining conditions typical of the rainy season.

On the Caribbean slope, the morning should be partly cloudy without significant rainfall. Intermittent rain and isolated thunderstorms may develop later over Guna Yala, Ngäbe-Buglé, Colón, northern Veraguas and Bocas del Toro.

On the Pacific side, isolated morning showers are possible around the Gulf of Chiriquí, southern Veraguas, southern Azuero and coastal Darién.

Afternoon and evening showers or thunderstorms could affect northern, central, western and eastern Panamá, the Gulf of Panama, Darién, southern Azuero, southern Veraguas and Chiriquí. Storms may produce brief gusty winds.

Maximum temperatures will generally range from 27–31°C, with minimums between 15–25°C depending on elevation.

IMHPA describes maritime conditions as favourable, with waves around 0.9 metres in the Caribbean and 0.6 metres in the Pacific. These general conditions do not exclude localized disruption around thunderstorms.

Ultraviolet radiation may reach moderate to very high levels during the afternoon.

Forecaster Blas Humberto Córdoba C. issued the bulletin at 1:08 a.m. The report is explicitly dated October 21 and describes the daily forecast rather than announcing a new weather alert.
