Rain will affect both coasts of Panama on Sunday, October 25, with the strongest afternoon storms expected in eastern areas, according to the Instituto de Meteorología e Hidrología de Panamá (IMHPA).
The forecast, issued at 1:04 a.m. by Pilar Lopez, places Guna Yala, Colón’s Costa Arriba, Panamá Este and Darién among the areas where thunderstorms could become very strong and produce gusty winds.
On the Caribbean side, morning showers are expected around Colón and Guna Yala. Rain could intensify around Bocas del Toro and western Ngäbe-Buglé overnight.
On the Pacific side, morning rain around the Gulf of Panama could reach eastern communities. More isolated afternoon showers are forecast for Azuero, Chiriquí and Panamá Oeste. IMHPA notes a possibility of rising rivers in eastern areas.
Daytime highs should reach 29–33.5°C, with cooler conditions in the Central Cordillera. UV levels could become high to very high in western Panama.
Separately, IMHPA’s existing rain, thunderstorm and wind watch remains valid until 11:59 a.m. Sunday. That expiry applies to the watch; rain remains forecast afterward.
