Rainy-season conditions will continue across Panama on Monday, October 26, with showers affecting both coasts and thunderstorms possible later in the day, according to the Instituto de Meteorología e Hidrología de Panamá (IMHPA).

The forecast was issued at 12:25 a.m. by Blas Humberto Córdoba.

On the Caribbean side, intermittent morning rain is expected in Guna Yala, Ngäbe-Buglé, northern Veraguas and Colón’s Costa Arriba. Afternoon and evening showers could also affect Bocas del Toro, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds.

On the Pacific slope, isolated morning downpours are forecast around Chiriquí’s gulf and highlands, southern Veraguas and Azuero, and coastal and mountainous Darién.

Later showers and thunderstorms could reach Panamá Centro, Norte, Oeste and Este, the Gulf of Panama and Darién, alongside western areas.

Maximum temperatures should range from 28–31°C. Minimum temperatures across the country, including highland locations, are forecast between 12°C and 25°C.

IMHPA flags caution for Caribbean maritime activities because of wind, waves and rough-water conditions. It describes Pacific conditions as favourable, although thunderstorms could produce gusts.

Afternoon UV levels could range from moderate to very high on both slopes.
