Rain and thunderstorms are expected across parts of Panama on Friday, with afternoon activity concentrated in western and central regions, according to the Instituto de Meteorología e Hidrología de Panamá (IMHPA).
A separate nationwide rain watch remains valid until 11:59 a.m. on November 6. It forecasts significant rainfall, locally heavy, and warns of possible flooding, rapid river rises and landslides. This is an official watch alongside the daily forecast.
On the Caribbean slope, morning rain is expected in Colón, eastern Guna Yala and Ngäbe-Buglé. Afternoon thunderstorms should concentrate between Bocas del Toro and Costa Abajo de Colón, with further showers over mountainous areas. Intermittent rain is forecast along the coast tonight.
On the Pacific side, morning showers should ease after midmorning in several coastal and metropolitan areas. Storms are expected to develop later from Chiriquí through Coclé and central Azuero, with isolated thunderstorms farther east.
Maximum temperatures should reach 28–30°C on the Caribbean side and 28–31°C on the Pacific. Mountain minimums could fall to 17°C.
Pacific winds of 25–35 km/h, stronger gusts and waves reaching 1.5 metres warrant caution, particularly off western Panama and Azuero. IMHPA also highlights saturated soils in western and central regions, increasing vulnerability to landslides and sudden river rises.
