Cloudy skies, showers and thunderstorms will affect both sides of Panama on Monday, November 2, with stronger afternoon downpours expected across several Pacific provinces.

The Instituto de Meteorología e Hidrología de Panamá (IMHPA) issued today’s first forecast at 12:12 a.m., prepared by María Cosme.

Caribbean storms offshore could move inland during the morning, particularly into Colón and Guna Yala. Later rainfall may be significant in Colón, Bocas del Toro and the Ngäbe-Buglé territory.

On the Pacific side, morning showers could reach Darién, Panamá, Panamá Oeste, Coclé and Azuero. Moderate to heavy afternoon thunderstorms are forecast for Panamá, Panamá Oeste, Coclé, Veraguas and Chiriquí. Rain could persist in Chiriquí overnight.

Maximum temperatures should reach 27–30°C across most of the country, with cooler conditions in the Central Cordillera. Winds could reach 34 km/h later in the day, while thunderstorms may produce stronger local gusts.

IMHPA advises maritime caution on both coasts. Forecast wave heights range from approximately 0.9–1.3 metres in the Caribbean and 0.6–1.4 metres in the Pacific.

Separately, the significant-rainfall watch remains valid through November 3. SINAPROC warns of flooding, sudden river rises and landslides, and advises travellers to avoid flooded roads, river crossings and unstable slopes.
