Panamá Viejo is offering free admission to Panamanians and residents on Sunday, November 1, coinciding with the final day of an interactive exhibition exploring marine biodiversity.

The open day combines thematic historical tours and a family workshop with access to *Sumergidos*, an audiovisual installation presented by Fundación MarViva and the Patronato Panamá Viejo.

The archaeological site opens at 8:30 a.m. Its published visiting hours extend to 5:30 p.m., with the ticket office closing at 4:30 p.m. The exhibition, located in the visitor centre’s Sala Panamá Viejo, is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

*Sumergidos* introduces visitors to the Thermal Dome, a marine phenomenon supporting diverse ocean life in the eastern tropical Pacific.

According to information supplied by the organizers, the experience lasts approximately eight to ten minutes. It combines scientific animation, laser projection, ambient lighting and motion sensors, allowing visitors’ movements to activate content about the ocean and its wildlife.

Additional material accessible through QR codes includes a digital exploration with species information and biodiversity maps. Exhibition admission is included with entry to the site.

The day’s historical activities include the family workshop *Tras la pista de los primeros pobladores*, focused on the area’s earliest inhabitants.

Panamá Viejo preserves remains of the first Spanish-founded city on the Pacific coast of mainland America, alongside evidence of earlier settlement. The Patronato recommends comfortable walking shoes, drinking water, rain protection and identification.

Free admission specifically covers Panamanians and residents. Internal transport costs $1.
