Strong thunderstorms will concentrate over western Panama and Azuero on Tuesday, November 3, while other regions face more intermittent rain, according to the Instituto de Meteorología e Hidrología de Panamá (IMHPA).

Today’s first forecast, issued at 12:32 a.m. by Rafael Morán, anticipates offshore morning showers moving towards parts of Chiriquí, Veraguas, Azuero and Panamá province.

Afternoon and nighttime downpours could become intense in Chiriquí, Veraguas, Azuero and the Ngäbe-Buglé territory, bringing lightning and possible gusty winds.

On the Caribbean slope, heavier later rainfall is expected around Bocas del Toro, northern Ngäbe-Buglé, northern Veraguas and the Central Cordillera. IMHPA identifies risks of rising rivers, localized flooding and landslides.

Maximum temperatures should reach 29–31°C on the Pacific side, 27–30°C in the Caribbean and 20–25°C in the Central Cordillera. Ultraviolet radiation could reach high to very high levels despite cloud cover.

Waves are forecast at approximately 0.6–1.2 metres in the Caribbean and 0.8–1.2 metres along the Pacific coast.

Separately, the significant-rainfall watch remains valid until 11:59 p.m. today. SINAPROC advises avoiding flooded crossings, riverbanks and unstable slopes. Holiday travellers should follow official updates and allow for changing road and weather conditions.
